Grottes du Foulon

Natural cavities hollowed out millions of years ago by running water, these caves invite you to travel far back in time.

An early habitat for mankind 300,000 years ago, representing the history of humanity through the ages, and closer to us, that of Châteaudun. In an exceptional geological site, these caves are the only ones in the world where visitors can observe hundreds of marine geodes of quartz and chalcedony in their natural surroundings.

Opening times

From January to April (Closed from the 27/02 to the 09/03) :

Weekends, public holidays, school holidays at Easter and All Saints' Day (zone B) every day from 2 pm to 5 pm except on monday

Guided tours at 2, 3 and 4 pm

 
May - June : Every day from 2 pm to 5 pm, closed on Mondays  and Wednesdays and from 25 /06  to the 1 / 07

July - August until the 16 september : Every day from 10 am to 12 pm and from 1 pm to 6 pm (except Saturday 5 pm)

Close the 25^th of december
